What Is Viva La Mujer?

Viva La Mujer houses candid conversations with movers and shakers in the Latinx community. Its aim: to inspire and empower you to keep moving forward. Because no dream is ever too big.

Lo que es para ti, nadie te lo quita.

Hi! My name is Grace Gavilanes and I’m a proud first-generation Ecuadorian American. Everything I do, I do pa’ la cultura. Siempre.

I created this feel-good, dream-big hub to highlight amazing Latinas who I’ve long admired. Their strength, drive, vulnerability, and resilience are what keep me going when doubt and anxiety rule my days. Their stories and sage takes on life and career always bring me back. I am sure these mujeres de magia will inspire you too.

When I’m not working on Viva La Mujer, I write and edit all things wellness, beauty, and everything in between.

In addition to freelance writing and editing for clients such as Love Wellness, Bulletproof, Youth to the People, and JLo Beauty, I also serve as Managing Editor at Equinox, where I help oversee editorial content on the EQX+ app. Other words can be found in Refinery29, People, Glamour, Food & Wine, and Well + Good, among other outlets.

I’ve also been featured in Forbes, Spanish-language newsletter Bonita Semana, and got to chat magazines, mental health, and so much more on the Girl Talk y Mas podcast.
